Music People Search & Download - Important Information
Sample and download music at no charge.  Charges only apply when music is used in a production.  Our online cue sheet is available here.

Registering
You can register at any time, but we will not be able to provide approval for registration except during business hours Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM ET (Toronto).  You can also speed up the process during these hours with a toll free call at 1-877-920-6746.  You can register at this page.

Registration approval (and logging in) will allow you to download tracks.  If you haven’t registered, you can still sample the full length tracks of music by clicking on the “Play” button.

CD Search
This is the easiest method to search for music.  Similar to having a collection of CDs on hand, except the search is done with a click of a button.  Choose from the categories available and results will give you a list of Compact Discs that contain a number of tracks in that category.  Click on “View Tracks” and see all the tracks contained on that CD.  Click on the “Play” button to the right of each track and hear the track streamed.  Click on the “Download” button and save the track to your computer.

Presently, we have more than 800 CDs catalogued with cover art, set up on the site.  More CDs are being added daily – mostly new and specialty music.  There is also more music available by exploring the “Selected Keyword Search” – over 100,000 tracks.

Selected Keyword Search
Select from the list of categories that we’ve provided.  You’ll be searching the data contained within our high quality mp3s.  This method is not as easy as the CD Search, but the results may throw up single tracks that appear on CDs containing a variety of styles.  ex. A number of CDs contain music from various countries from around the world, that may be only categorized in the CD Search as “Contemporary World Music”.  But if you want to find the tracks relating to “Spain” for example, rather than wading through all the CDs, you might want to select “Spain” from Selected Keyword Search.  Also use other related words such as “Spanish”, “Latin”, etc.

Narrowing your search
Too many results?  Then use more words.  ex. If the word “Spain” throws up 40 pages of results and it’s a bit overwhelming, than go to the “Keyword Search” field and type in “Spain” and “Guitar” for example.  This will narrow your search results.  But remember if you put in too many words, you may get very few results or nothing at all.

Keyword Search field
If you don’t see your desired word in the “Selected Keyword Search’, then type it in here.  You can also narrow your search here too, as I explained above.  This is also a good place to search for “Soundalikes” “Well Known Tunes”, etc.  Type in a song title or a name of a popular group - you never know what you’ll find!

If you are sampling music and haven’t logged in, once you try to download you will be taken to the Login page.  After logging in, you will be returned to the page you where at.

Track Information
Looking at the mp3s in programs such as iTunes, will reveal further information such as the CD Title, Track Title, Composer's Names, etc.  All this information is contained in the tags within each mp3.  This information may be helpful when filling out the Music Cue Sheet.

Wave & AIF Files
We are quite happy to send you wave and aif files of your chosen mp3s.  We have our own ftp site where you can pick them up or we can send them to yours.

Compact Discs
And we still have Compact Discs available of all the music that is online.  Your only cost is for shipping.  Shipping is available by mail, courier, etc.
